The most exciting game of round 8 in the BSNF took place in Juana Diaz. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th rankedGigantes (3-4) to sixth ranked Monarcas (3-3) 62-59 on Tuesday evening. Monarcas forced 20 Carolina turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-1994, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. The other American import forward Tess Amundsen (185-1999, college: CSUN) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Amundsen is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-Jordanian guard Aisha Sheppard (175-1998, college: Virginia Tech) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Charity Harris (163-1991, college: Bluefield St.) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Monarcas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Yauco. Carolina at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost.
